Hi, I’m Casey, founder of The Lucky Latch — a space created from struggle, love, and a deep desire to help other mamas feel confident in their breastfeeding journey.
My story began in 2022 with the birth of my daughter, Lucky. What should have been a joyful and empowering start was anything but. The lactation support I received in the hospital was cold, rushed, and confusing. Sleep-deprived and overwhelmed, I was told my baby needed to be fed “properly” or formula would be the next step. They handed me a manual pump with little explanation and left me feeling lost. Like many first-time moms, I assumed breastfeeding would come naturally. I quickly realized how wrong I was.
We invested in a private lactation consultant who helped, but I still felt like something was missing. Then I found The Lactation Foundation — a place that offered the compassionate, consistent support I truly needed. I went weekly for months, and slowly, Lucky and I found our rhythm. Nearly three years later, we’re still going strong with breastfeeding.
This journey lit a fire in me. With a master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration, I’ve always believed in the power of systems to create change. Now, I’m focused on how those systems impact breastfeeding mothers — from hospital policies to workplace rights. I'm currently training to become a Certified Lactation Counselor, and while I work toward certification, I’m here to support, educate, and empower.
At The Lucky Latch, my goal is simple: to be the resource I wish I had. Whether you’re pregnant and preparing or in the thick of it with a newborn, I’m here to help you feel heard, supported, and never alone.
You've got this — and I’ve got you.
